On 18 February 2017 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held a meeting with European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn in the framework of 53rd Munich Security Conference.

The ministers discussed in details the main aspects of the EU-Ukraine cooperation agenda. The counterparts underlined the importance to react properly on the aggravation the security situation in Donbas and to preserve the EU sanctions against the Russian Federation until it stops the aggression against Ukraine.

EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn underscored the further EU support of the domestic reforms in Ukraine underlying that that the EU clearly understands that Ukraine is implementing crucial reforms under challenging conditions of the Russian military aggression.

Johannes Hahn reassured that the EU takes all the possible steps to liberalize a visa regime for Ukrainians as soon as possible.
