State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Zayats held November 27, 2017, during his trip to Kenya to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the re-elected President of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, a meeting with the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Sen. Kenneth Lusaka.
During the meeting both sides discussed a wide range of Ukraine-Kenya bilateral cooperation, in particular in the spheres of trade and economy, agriculture, health and education, as well as political cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
The representatives of two countries also exchanged views on the relevant issues of the regional and global agenda, including in the context of international peace and security, with separate reference to the Russian aggression.
A special emphasis during the meeting was made on deepening ties between the legislatures of two countries, both through strengthening of political contacts, as well as by means of establishing inter-parliamentary sectorial cooperation. A.Zayats assured that a visit of the high-level parliamentary delegation of Kenya will be welcomed in Ukraine.
Also discussed during the meeting was the importance of exchanging ministerial delegations with the view of concluding a number of practical bilateral documents.
