On August 29 this year, during his working visit to Finland, Chairman of the Committee of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine K.Gryshchenko met with Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb
During the meeting were discussed the issues of increasing the volume of Ukrainian exports to Finland and the raising of Finnish investments in Ukraine's economy.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister also expressed interest in increasing the number of major infrastructure projects in Ukraine including Finnish investments, particularly in the field of alternative and renewable energy.
In this context they stressed the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Development, whose next meeting will be held in Helsinki.
Minister A. Stubb expressed his desire to visit Ukraine at the head representative delegation of Finnish businessmen to pursue new areas of cooperation.
A. Stubb praised the efforts of the Ukrainian Government to facilitate the work of foreign companies in Ukraine, especially in the context of the introduction of the automatic refund.
Both sides expressed hope for successful completion of negotiations on an Association Agreement, especially on a compromise in the context of a Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU.
Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland emphasized that the official Helsinki will remain "a strong advocate of European path of Ukraine."
In focus were the issues of preparation for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw on 29-30 September Ukraine's Foreign Minister Gryshchenko informed his interlocutor of the political situation in Ukraine, especially noticing the commitment of the Ukrainian government to democracy, the rule of law and standards of the course of large-scale economic reforms.
