On August 29 this year, during his working visit in Finland, Chairman of the Committee of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine met with the Prime Minister of Finland Jyrki Katainen
During the meeting officials noted high dynamics of Ukrainian-Finnish relations and discussed the prospects of intensification of bilateral cooperation, especially in trade and economic cooperation in the field of innovation and high technology.
Special attention during the conversation was given to the deepening of political dialogue, particularly.K.Gryshchenko conveyed the invitation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov to head of the Government of Finland J.Katainen to visit Ukraine soon.
Prime Minister of Finland, confirmed the readiness of official Helsinki to support the European aspirations of Ukraine, particularly in the context of the negotiations concerning European Union Association Agreement, including the establishment of free trade, as well as implementing the EU Action Plan to liberalize visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
According to J. Katainen, "The Association Agreement is a key element in further development of EU-Ukraine relations." "We welcome the political will of the Ukrainian government to complete negotiations with the European Union later this year" - the Prime Minister of Finland.
He also noticed that it is important that official Kiev seeks the ways to integrate Ukraine into the EU. "It gives people hope and opens new perspectives. We support Ukraine's European ambitions and advocate for liberalization of visa regime with your country, "- said the head of the Government of Finland.
