Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and the Netherlands Pavlo Klimkin and Halbe Zeilstra agreed to intensify interaction within the framework of the international organizations to counter Russian aggression, in particular during the Dutch non-permanent membership in the UNSC in 2018, and discussed the possibility of the UN peacekeeping mission deployment on Donbas.
The Dutch Side confirmed its unwavering position on sanction regime against Russian Federation until the full implementation of Minsk Agreements by the Russian side.
Ministers welcomed the first positive results of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement implementation, which creates additional opportunities for the further development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Netherlands, and discussed a number of potential projects in the agricultural and IT sectors, in the field of logistics, water management, energy efficiency.
The criminal prosecution those responsible for MH17 downing under the Dutch legal system remains on the top of the agenda.
During the meeting with Vice Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior and Kingdom relations of the Netherlands, K. Ollongren the parties agreed to join efforts to combat Russian propaganda and other cyber challenges. The Netherlands is also committed to help Ukraine to implement e-governance and e-democracy. Cooperation between the regions of Ukraine and The Netherlands is also high on the agenda.
During the visit, Minister P.Klimkin exchanged views with students of the University of Leiden and gave interview to the representatives of the Dutch media “RTL nieuws” and “ANP”.
