The participants focused their attention on the work productivity of the National Commission for the period since the beginning of 2010.
It was noted a significant activisation of high-level working contacts between UNESCO and Ukraine in all spheres of competence of the Organization.
It was analyzed both the results of the work carried out to preserve historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine, including that one entered into UNESCO World Heritage List, and steps aimed to promote Ukrainian places of interest worldwide.
Separate attention was paid on results of the International seminar "Role of religious communities in management of objects of world heritage " (November, 2-5th , 2010, Kiev) which enabled Ukraine to initiate a new line of work on management of objects of world cultural heritage within the framework of UNESCO. The further progress of the mentioned thematic direction will undoubtedly make a positive influence on the international image of our state.
It was presented a report of the National Commission Secretariat on participation of Ukrainian delegations in the 35th Session of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee (19-29 June, Paris) and other international events. It was also noted the importance of the "Residence of Metropolitans of Bukovina and Dalmatia " object to be entered into UNESCO World Heritage List that showed the growing authority of our state in UNESCO (currently the site is the location of Chernivtsi National University named after Yu.Fedkovych).
During the session key issues of cooperation between Ukraine and UNESCO, in particular, on preparation for participation of a delegation of Ukraine in the 36th Session of UNESCO’s General Conference were also considered.
Members of the National Commission positively assessed the work of the interagency body and its Secretariat in particular.
