17 Jul 2011- In the framework of the working visit to Brussels Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Foreign Minister of Poland Radosław Sikorski.
The Ministers of two states discussed the prospects for completion of negotiations on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement as well as a deep and comprehensive free trade area. The parties agreed to intensify efforts on coordination all issues of the negotiation process not later than the autumn 2011. It was stated that the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU would not only become a shared success of Kyiv and Brussels but also have a positive impact on the welfare and prosperity of Europe and its population as a whole. Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko also noted that Ukraine especially appreciates the support for the Ukraine’s European integration aspirations becoming a priority for the Polish presidency of the EU.
The Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Poland exchanged views on such topical issues as regional security and stability, progress in the Transnistrian settlement reached through mediation of Kyiv, and preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held on September 29-30 in Warsaw.
