Оn October 10, 2018, Ukrainian-Tunisian political consultations at the level of Directors of the territorial departments of the MFA of the two countries took place in Tunisia. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Director General for the Middle East and Africa Mrs. Myroslava Shcherbatiuk. The Tunisian delegation was headed by Director of the European Non-EU Member Countries Department Mr. Slim Gharyani.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Ukrainian – Tunisian cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, educational and consular spheres, as well as the issues of interaction within the framework of international organizations. Particular attention was paid to the issue of intensification of inter-parliamentary and interregional cooperation, as well as to the joint efforts in the context of preparation for holding of the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Tunisian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation in the year of 2019.
The parties also exchanged views on topical issues of the international agenda, in particular over the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Ukrainian delegation was received by Sabri Bachtobji, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Tunisian Republic.
