On September 13, 2012, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine A.Olefirov met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour T.Melia at the MFA of Ukraine.

During the meeting, a wide range of topical issues of Ukraine – USA bilateral relation was discussed, including cooperation in the sphere of strengthening democracy, supremacy of law and civil society development.

The American Side has been informed on the course of preparing elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that are due to be held in October.

The Sides exchanged their views with regard to coordinated action of both states on the international arena, in particular in the framework of Ukraine’s Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2013.
