On January 12, 2010 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yelisieiev met the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Petras Vaitiekunas who presented the copies of his credentials.

During the meeting the sides discussed the present state of the relations of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania and the prospects for their development, topical issues of cooperation in the sphere of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Particular attention was paid to the bilateral dialogue agenda for 2010, and also to the implementing of development programs in the Crimea.

Kostiantyn Yelisieiev expressed gratitude to Mr. Vaitiekunas for his important personal contribution of as Foreign Minister of Lithuania in 2006-2008 into development of Ukrainian-Lithuanian strategic partnership. He wished the new Ambassador every success in his mission in Ukraine.
