On 16 April 2019, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affaires of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya received newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine Dafina Gercheva.
The sides were unanimous in commending Ukraine-UNDP cooperation, aimed at promoting sustainable development and capacity-building in Ukraine.
The meeting allowed an exchange of views on how to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, including in such areas as economic growth, social progress, protection of environment, gender equality, democratic governance as well as recovery in the affected Donbas.
In terms of project portfolio and allocated resources, UNDP activities in Ukraine rank among the largest in Europe. In 2018, the United Nations Development Programme implemented 27 projects in Ukraine, with budget expenditure totaling $165 million.
