Within the framework of the first in history of bilateral relations official visit of the Head of the National Assembly of Kenya Mr.Justin Muturi to Ukraine, a meeting of the Parliamentary Delegation of Kenya was held with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. The meeting was a continuation of the direct dialogue launched during the official visit of the head of Ukrainian diplomacy to Kenya in May 2018.
The parties discussed the implementation of agreements in the priority areas of cooperation - trade and economy, agriculture, direct flights, tourism, education - and expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of contacts between the two countries. The necessity of activating the joint work on preparation for signing in the near future of the 12 draft intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements between Ukraine and Kenya is noted.
In this context, Minister Pavlo Klimkin stressed the importance of this year's visit to Ukraine by the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya, Honourable Dr. Monica Juma, and the prospect of the opening of the Embassy of Kenya in Kyiv.
The Minister also called on the Kenyan side to continue supporting Ukraine in terms of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
