On May 24, 2019, the 8th Round of Ukraine-Korean political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and the Republic of Korea was held in Seoul.

During the consultations Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, discussed with Mr. Yoon Soongu, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Special attention was paid to consular issues, in particular the liberalization of visa regime between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea.

The parties also discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations. Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue the bilateral dialogue at the highest level in the near future.

Parties also exchanged the views on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the situation in North-East Asia, as well as in other regions of the world.
