«Norway supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and will continue to provide practical assistance in implementing an ambitious reform program in Ukraine», State Secretary of the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Audun Halvorsen said on May 29, during the meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on European Integration Olena Zerkal.
Both sides welcomed high dynamics and effectiveness of the Ukrainian-Norwegian political dialogue in recent years, took note of positive trends in bilateral trade, emphasized a noticeable progress in investment cooperation.
Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Norway for supporting territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, providing significant practical assistance for implementation of systemic reforms in our country.
Ukraine’s interest in practical cooperation in the energy sector as well as in learning from Oslo’s experience on co-operation with the EU within the framework of the European Economic Area was stressed.
Participants of the meeting hailed the launching of the Bilateral Working Group on Nuclear Security, Nuclear Safety and Emergency Preparedness, the first meeting of which was held in Kyiv on 29 May.
The sides exchanged views on the cooperation between Ukraine and Norway in multilateral formats.
They also welcomed opening of the direct flight between Kyiv and Oslo in October 2019.
