On August 7, 2019, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Anka Feldhusen.

Vasyl Bodnar expressed appreciation of the support of Germany for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as for the implementation of domestic reforms in our state.

Other main topics of the conversation were maintaining bilateral dialogue; the importance of the Leaders of Ukraine and Germany having a telephone conversation to discuss the recent exacerbation of the situation in the Donbass; the urgency of convening a meeting in the Normandy format.

The Sides affirmed that there is a significant potential for interaction in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership initiative and agreed upon the importance of continuing joint action to counter the hybrid threats emanating from Russia.
