On October 9-11, 2019 Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Amb. Yehor Bozhok took part in the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) Plenary meeting held in Auckland, New Zealand.
The delegations of 35 Partners exchanged information and views on important issues regarding missile non-proliferation with particular focus on violations and inconsistence. In nowaday’s unsecure international environment non-proliferation and arms control regimes become more and more fragile. It’s a common knowledge that a number of agreements in this sphere has been recently undermined and for those violations no one has been taken accountable.
Control over missiles and related technologies remains a substantional component of security architecture. In this regard, it is critically important to ensure further effective functioning of the MTCR as the main remaining pillar of international missile non-proliferation regime.
It was agreed to hold the 2020 MTCR Technical Experts Meeting (TEM) and Technical Outreach Meeting (TOM) in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine.
