Further steps aimed at deepening political dialogue and practical cooperation were discussed by the Ukrainian and Slovenian sides at the political consultations at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers on November 8, 2019 in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasyl Bodnar, the Slovenian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Simona Leskovar.
The sides agreed on organizing a series of visits, including at the highest level, enhancing practical cooperation in the economic and other spheres, continuation of the exchange of experience in introducing systemic reforms and coordination in the framework of international organizations.
Deputy Minister Vasyl Bodnar expressed gratitude to the Slovenian side for the support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, assistance in countering the Russian aggression, in particular organizing recovery of injured Ukrainian servicemen as well as health and recreational activities for certain categories of children from Ukraine.
The Slovenian side confirmed its support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic and European integration course as well as its readiness to further share its own experience in implementing priorities in this sphere, in particular in the context of Slovenia’s preparation for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2021.
