During negotiations on 18 November with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko Chairman of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktoras Pranckiets reassured the Minister of his country’s strong support of Ukraine, including in the framework of international organizations with a view of addressing Russian aggressive policy. The Lithuanian Speaker stressed that Lithuanian MPs in negotiations with their international counterparts constantly raise the need of political support for Ukraine in its fight for restoration of territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
The parties exchanged views on coordination of joint actions within PACE, particularly Baltic + Group.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister thanked the Lithuanian Speaker for comprehensive support by Lithuania, especially in implementing reforms. In this context the interlocutors underlined the importance of the Ukraine Reform Conference, to be hosted by Vilnius in 2020.
The parties stated the common approach in addressing the threats, posed by the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, to the European security.
