This was stated during a bilateral meeting between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Anne Linde on the side-lines of the OSCE Council of Ministers’ meeting in Bratislava on December 5, 2019.
Vadym Prystayko expressed gratitude to the Swedish Foreign Minister for attaching special importance by the Government of Sweden to human rights abuses by Russia in the occupied parts of the Ukrainian territory and for supporting the regime of international sanctions against Russia.
Sweden also remains an important partner of Ukraine in providing practical assistance for the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, particularly in the spheres of local self-governance, protection of environment, energy efficiency and others.
Foreign Ministers discussed the current security situation in the Donbass. Minister Vadym Prystaiko briefed his Swedish colleague on Ukraine's steps aimed at diplomatic settlement of the conflict caused by the Russian aggression.
