The meeting focused on the current developments in the Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. A.Amura expressed the position of the Syrian Government on the situation settlement in Syria. According to him, the Syrian Government views the demands of peaceful protesters as legal and is ready to satisfy them, while the human loss is the result of clashes between the law-enforcement forces and the radical armed elements.

Mr. Mykytenko stressed the need for peaceful regulation of the situation in Syria through the political means on the basis of the public consensus and the implementation of reforms by the Syrian Government.

The parties also discussed a wide range of issues of the Ukrainian – Syrian cooperation and realization of the bilateral agreements, reached during recent high-level contacts.
