On April 6, 2012 in Kyiv in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine the Ukrainian-Romanian bilateral political consultations were held under the co-chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Victor Mayko, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Bogdan Aurescu, State Secretary for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
The Parties discussed the wide range of Ukrainian-Romanian relations, particularly in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, interaction in the context of Ukraine’s European integration and cooperation within the framework of international organizations. The Parties exchanged views on a wide-ranging spectrum of important global and regional issues. Ukraine and Romania confirmed their interest in the intensification of bilateral political dialogue at the highest and high levels as well as in the development and improvement of legal basis of bilateral relations.
The Ukrainian Side expressed its interest regarding the development of the investment projects, improvement of border infrastructure, including those to be supported by the European Union.
The Romanian Side confirmed its support of the European aspirations of Ukraine, particularly as regards the soonest or possible signing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and European Union as well as further liberalization of visa regime.
