During a meeting Ministers K.Gryshchenko and D. Droutsas discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, cooperation in the sphere of European integration, exchanged opinions on the situation in North Africa, the Middle East and other parts of the world.

The parties noted reciprocal interestedness in the facilitation of bilateral political dialogue, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian cooperation, collaboration within the framework of international organizations. In that connection the sides confirmed preliminary arrangements on a state visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Greece in October and holding the fifth session of the of the intergovernmental joint working group on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation in July in Athens.

The Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the significant increase in the number of Ukrainian tourists to Greece last year and articulated their intentions to continue further liberalization of the visa regime for the citizens of Ukraine both on the bilateral and multilateral level.

Minister D. Droutsas stressed on Greece’s support for European integration aspirations of Ukraine, in particular in the context of negotiations with the EU on concluding the Association Agreement and implementation of the visa liberalization Action Plan for Ukraine.

Kostyantyn Gryshchenko expressed support and solidarity with the Government and people of Greece in their efforts to overcome the financial and economic crisis in the country.

After the talks the Ministers signed the Agreement on cooperation between the State Archive Services of Ukraine and Greece.
