On 19 November the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko held meeting with Ambassador of Israel in Ukraine H.E. Mr. Reuven Din El at his request.
The interlocutors discussed the agenda of bilateral relations, particularly further development of the two states’ economic cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on Middle Eastern affairs, especially the sharp deterioration of Israeli-Palestinian armed confrontation and possible ways out of the situation and prospects of a settlement.
In the context of escalation of combat fighting the MFA of Ukraine expressed concern over the fate of civilians, including many Ukrainian citizens who live in the Gaza Strip, subject to attacks of the Israeli army.
Emphasis was laid also on the need to cease firing of Palestinian rockets on the Israeli territories as an important condition for reaching peace.
