On 6 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha received at the MFA the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States to Ukraine, Julia Davis, who had arrived in Kyiv the day before to begin her diplomatic mission.

Andrii Sybiha congratulated Ms Davis on the start of her work in Ukraine and wished her success in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

The Foreign Minister stressed that Russia has been continuing its attacks against Ukrainian cities and communities for almost two months instead of accepting the US proposal for a long-term ceasefire, which Ukraine unconditionally accepted on 11 March.

Andrii Sybiha praised the efforts of the United States, led by President Donald Trump, to end the war and underlined Ukraine's commitment to achieving a just and sustainable peace.

The parties discussed topical issues of further bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of signing the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America on the establishment of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund.

The parties also coordinated the schedule of further bilateral meetings at various levels.
