On May 2, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kim Hyung Tae.
Andrii Sybiha expressed his gratitude for the consistent support of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, as well as the provided financial and humanitarian assistance, which amounted to 2.55 billion US dollars within the framework of the program of solidarity with Ukraine.
The First Deputy Minister drew the attention of the Korean side to the consequences of Russian missile terror, emphasizing the growing number of victims among the civilian population and the destruction of critical infrastructure facilities. It was noted that the Ukrainian side documented numerous facts of use by the aggressor state of ballistic missiles and ammunition, which were produced by the North Korea.
Andrii Sybiha also emphasized an important role of Korea in implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in particular in the context of the preparation of the inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland.
The parties agreed on the need to maintain the growing dynamics of the Ukrainian-Korean political dialogue at the highest level, as well as strengthening cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres. They also underscored the importance of using cooperation mechanisms in these areas, in particular, the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Korean Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
