Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: " I spoke with Cho Hyun, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea.
I briefed him on Russia’s ongoing terror against Ukraine, its continued missile and drone attacks, and its attempts to undermine freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.
Russia’s war against Ukraine has consequences far beyond Europe. The deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, including North Korea’s involvement in the war, directly links security in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
This is why our response must also be increasingly coordinated. The Republic of Korea has an important role to play in strengthening global security, defending freedom of navigation, and countering the threats posed by Russia and North Korea in the region and globally.
We discussed how Ukraine and the Republic of Korea can work more closely to address these shared security challenges and strengthen our bilateral cooperation.
I thanked the Republic of Korea for its assistance to Ukraine. We value Korea’s support and look forward to turning our shared security interests into stronger practical cooperation".
