Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "As Switzerland begins its OSCE Chairpersonship in 2026, I had a substantive call with my Swiss colleague and the new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ignazio Cassis.
I am grateful for Switzerland’s dedication to keeping the issue of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine at the center of its Chairpersonship.
I also appreciate Switzerland’s commitment to the Helsinki principles, which provide the framework to fully leverage the OSCE’s potential in advancing a dignified peace in Europe. We discussed concrete steps toward this goal.
I updated my colleague on developments on the battlefield and the consequences of Russia’s continued terror against civilians.
I thanked Switzerland for its leadership in supporting Ukraine, in particular its humanitarian assistance and contributions to reconstruction efforts.
I also shared my sincere condolences regarding the tragedy in Crans-Montana during the New Year celebrations."
