On September 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Heidi Grau.

Olexandr Mischenko congratulated Heidi Grau on the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Ukraine and thanked Switzerland for its consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine. He expressed confidence in further strengthening Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral relations, including the further development of political dialogue, support for peace efforts, strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, and cooperation in reconstruction. Olexandr Mischenko thanked Switzerland for the energy assistance already provided and called on Switzerland to consider extending this support ahead of the upcoming heating season.

The interlocutors also discussed cooperation within the framework of Switzerland’s Chairpersonship of the OSCE in 2026. The Ukrainian side highly appreciated Switzerland’s efforts to put countering Russia’s aggression against Ukraine on the OSCE agenda and expressed hope for close coordination ahead of the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

Olexandr Mischenko wished the Swiss Ambassador success in her diplomatic mission and expressed confidence that her work would contribute to further deepening practical cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, Heidi Grau assured that Switzerland stands ready to continue actively engaging with Ukraine and contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
