Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a good phone call with my Slovak colleague, Minister Juraj Blanár today.
I thanked Juraj for his recent visit to Vinnytsia and Slovakia’s continued support for Ukraine’s medical resilience. Regular high-level dialogue remains essential for advancing our partnership.
Holding our call on the day of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, we discussed Slovakia’s contribution to Ukraine’s recovery and agreed to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, infrastructure, cross-border connectivity, business, and defense industries.
Following the agreements between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, we reviewed preparations for the 4th round of intergovernmental consultations.
We also discussed Slovakia’s upcoming Presidency of the Visegrád Group. I expressed hope that support for Ukraine and our European integration will remain among its important priorities.
I thanked Slovakia for its consistent support for Ukraine’s EU accession and emphasized the importance of opening the remaining five negotiating clusters as soon as possible. Ukraine remains fully committed to a merit-based accession process and aims to advance all necessary steps.
Ukraine values Slovakia’s role as a close neighbor and partner, and we remain committed to expanding practical cooperation for the benefit of both our countries and our shared European security".
