Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: “Ukraine and Slovakia have every reason to deepen our partnership. Glad to discuss this agenda with my Slovak colleague Juraj Blanár.

I thanked Slovakia for its support of Ukraine’s path to EU accession, in particular for its readiness to support the opening of negotiating clusters. Ukraine’s future is in the European Union, and our membership will only strengthen the security, resilience and competitiveness of Europe as a whole.

Good neighborly relations, mutual trust and practical cooperation remain the foundation of our partnership. We discussed further steps to deepen Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation, in particular in the areas of defense, energy resilience, infrastructure and regional development. Ukraine is also open to closer cooperation with Slovakia on joint defense projects, as well as within the framework of the SAFE mechanism.

Among our priorities is preparation for the next round of intergovernmental consultations, which remain an important tool for advancing our bilateral agenda and achieving concrete results.

We also focused on our shared security. Lasting peace requires increased pressure on Russia, greater unity in Europe, and closer cooperation between neighbors who understand that the security of Ukraine and the security of Europe are inseparable.
