Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS), and Illya Kletskovskyy, URCS Deputy Director General.

The main topic of discussion was the establishment of systemic cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ukrainian Red Cross Society to support Ukrainian citizens most affected by Russia`s aggression.

“While Russia rejects ceasefire proposals and escalates its terror against peaceful Ukrainian cities and civilians, we must use all available tools and strengthen each other thus underpinning the resilience of our state and people,” the Minister emphasized.

Andrii Sybiha confirmed that preparations are underway for the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between the MFA and URCS. The document will establish a coordination mechanism for actions on the national and international levels in such areas as humanitarian aid and campaigns, promotion of Ukraine's humanitarian initiatives and mobilization of additional resources for the needs of our state and people.

The interlocutors also discussed potential joint projects, primarily those aimed at supporting children in the frontline regions who suffer from the consequences of the Russian war and require psychological assistance and rehabilitation.

Civilian protection initiatives were another focus of the meeting. The Minister noted than MFA would continue to use international platforms for promoting Ukraine’s humanitarian agenda of on the global level and attracting assistance from international partners.

Andrii Sybiha also informed the interlocutors about a number of humanitarian projects already being implemented by the MFA, in particular in cooperation with the Spouses of Ukrainian Diplomats Association. A top priority in this work is supporting children from regions that are constantly under Russian attack.

The Minister thanked the representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross for their work and expressed confidence that the joint efforts between the MFA and the URCS would significantly enhance support for Ukrainian citizens during the war.
