First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha met with the Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine Munir Mammadzade.
Andrii Sybiha expressed his gratitude to UNICEF for the assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression. It was noted that during this period, UNICEF implemented programs worth 937 million USD. The parties emphasized the fruitful cooperation with the Office of the First Lady of Ukraine.
The parties emphasized the need to strengthen work with communities, especially in the areas of education and mental health, as well as providing assistance to children with special needs.
In addition, the interlocutors discussed the process of approving the agreed UNICEF Country Program Document for the period 2025-2029.
The First Deputy Minister called on UNICEF to intensify its efforts to implement point 4 of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula in the context of the return of Ukrainian children illegally taken by Russia.
