Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I was pleased to meet with James Temerty in Toronto, a longstanding friend of Ukraine whose personal contribution to supporting our country over many years has been truly remarkable.
We discussed ongoing humanitarian projects and practical ways to further support Ukrainians. We also spoke about the priorities where a strong Ukrainian voice in Canada matters greatly today — strengthening sanctions against Russia, closing Ukraine’s sky, and moving forward with the use of frozen Russian assets.
I thanked James for everything he has done and continues to do for Ukraine. His commitment is an example of how personal initiative, strong institutions, and effective advocacy can be transformed into real support for our country.
This year marks 135 years since Ukrainians first arrived in Canada. Its strength and influence have been built over generations, and today its unity and ability to speak with one strong voice remain an important asset for Ukraine in our fight and our pursuit of a comprehensive and lasting peace".
