Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Within the very active agenda on accountability efforts in The Hague today, together with Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Mudra we had a very productive meeting with International Criminal Court leadership President Judge Akane, Registrar Zavala Giler and the team of the Office of the Prosecutor. 

Accountability for the core international crimes committed in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression is the cornerstone of a just and lasting peace. International law must be an obligation, not a declaration. 

We are grateful to the Court for the efforts to ensure justice for Ukrainian people and bring those responsible for the gravest crimes to account. 

We discussed the importance of evidence gathering through the ICC field office in Ukraine. It is vital for new warrants against war criminals to ensure justice. 

We in Ukraine consider accountability infrastructure as an integral element of security guarantees and security architecture for Ukraine."
