Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a good meeting with my Canadian friend and colleague Anita Anand on the margins of the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan.
I expressed gratitude to Canada for its support, including its contributions to the PURL initiative and continued military assistance.
I also thanked Canada for its leadership in assisting Ukraine this winter. Canada’s support was timely and essential, first of all for our military and local communities.
We also discussed the upcoming high-level meeting on the return of Ukrainian children on May 11th in Brussels. Bringing our children back remains a top priority and a shared humanitarian responsibility. Canada’s role and leadership here are essential.
I also briefed my colleague on the battlefield situation, ongoing peace efforts, and Ukraine’s next steps on its EU accession path. Ukraine remains focused on strengthening security, implementing reforms, and advancing toward full-fledged membership in the EU.
Grateful to Canada for its continued care and support for the Ukrainian community. Your solidarity truly matters".
