Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a substantive meeting with my friend, Foreign Minister of Latvia Baiba Braže. 

I congratulated Latvia on the successful conduct of democratic parliamentary elections, and Baiba personally on her election to the Saeima. 

We discussed further defence cooperation and strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience. Grateful to Latvia and Latvian businesses for their readiness to provide essential humanitarian assistance ahead of the winter. 

We coordinated joint steps to maintain and increase pressure on the aggressor, including through sanctions. 

The Lukashenka regime in Belarus is posing a growing threat to Latvia, the Baltics, and wider Europe. We discussed ways to counter it and increase pressure on Minsk.
