Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Following today’s announcement of additional $500 million support for the PURL initiative, Norway has become its largest donor. Earlier this year, it had already provided $350 million. 

Today after the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting I thanked my good friend Espen Barth Eide and the entire Norwegian government for this vital and timely support.  

Contributions to PURL directly strengthen Ukraine’s air defense at the time when Russia escalates attacks against our people and energy system this winter. Therefore, Norway’s support is critical. 

Norway demonstrates its role as one of our strongest allies on the path to achieving a just and long-lasting peace.  

Strengthening Ukraine’s ability to withstand aggression remains the best way forward to ensure lasting peace and guaranteed security for the whole Europe."
