On May 30, 2024 First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, met with the ambassadors of the Nordic countries. The event was also attended by Oleh Mozhnyi, First Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine; Serhiy Boyev, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Strategic Industries; and Stanislav Haider, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Andrii Sybiha extended his gratitude towards the Nordic countries for their robust leadership and multifaceted practical support in combating the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine.
He underscored the critical role of the upcoming Third Ukraine-Northern Europe Summit in Stockholm. This summit serves as a pivotal interaction and coordination platform, which has demonstrated its effectiveness in previous engagements.
The dialogue covered several pressing matters, particularly aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities. This includes the augmentation of defense industry cooperation and ensuring the provision of necessary armaments for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Special attention was given to the safeguarding of Ukraine's critical infrastructure, which is under constant threat from Russian hostile actions. The participants acknowledged that the Russian aggression not only jeopardizes Ukraine but also poses a significant risk to the entire European continent.
