On May 31, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a telephone conversation with his Indonesian counterpart, Director General for American and European Affairs of Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Umar Hadi.
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude for Indonesia's support of our country at international platforms for defending sovereignty and territorial integrity under the circumstance of armed aggression by the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the preparation for the Global Peace Summit, which will be held in June in Switzerland. The importance of the participation of Indonesia in the Summit was noted, as one of the leaders of the countries of the Global South.
The parties also discussed ways to intensify bilateral relations, including the importance of holding Ukrainian-Indonesian political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the two countries.
The interlocutors paid attention to the issue of further institutionalization of Ukraine's relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and sectoral cooperation in the areas of Food Security, IT and others.
