On 31 May, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Arad Benkö.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, including support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Andrii Sybiha thanked Austria for its political, humanitarian, economic and financial support of Ukraine, particularly noting the assistance in demining the liberated territories of our country.
The sides paid special attention to the deepening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, in particular within international organizations and other frameworks. The interlocutors stressed the importance of increasing international pressure on the aggressor state and bringing Russia to justice for all its crimes.
The First Deputy Minister welcomed the confirmation of the Austrian Federal Chancellor's participation in the Global Peace Summit, as well as the Austrian side's involvement in the activities of most of the Peace Formula working groups. The sides coordinated further steps to ensure the participation of as many countries of the Global South as possible.
Andrii Sybiha also informed the Ambassador about the Ukraine's progress on the European integration track and expressed hope for the EU’s soonest official opening accession negotiations with Ukraine.
