On May 6, 2024 First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with Ambassador of the French Republic to Ukraine Gaël Veyssière.

Andrii Sybiha positively noted the active Ukrainian-French political dialogue at the highest and high levels and expressed gratitude for France's significant assistance and support to Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, as well as the substantial contribution of the French side to increasing the defense capabilities of Ukraine.

The interlocutors discussed the development of the situation around the latest initiatives of President Emmanuel Macron in the context of Ukraine, as well as the responsibility of Russia and its leadership for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to preparations for the inaugural Global Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland in June. The Parties agreed on further active interaction in the context of preparations for the Summit.
