Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Productive meeting with Kaja Kallas in Luxembourg following the Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
Grateful to the HRVP for the invitation and her strong leadership. Thanks to Kaja's efforts, the EU today adopted its largest sanctions package since the start of the full-scale invasion: around 1,600 listings targeting the Russian war machine.
I am glad that many of them are based on Ukrainian proposals and evidence. Shockwave sanctions, not gradual ones, are the right strategy.
I informed our EU partners that Ukraine has already submitted a list of ten more Russian oligarchs for sanctions.
President Zelenskyy's sanctions envoy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, who took part in the meeting, outlined our strategy for further increasing pressure on Russia.
We also focused on strengthening Ukraine's defense and advancing its EU accession. We welcome today's decision to move forward with opening Clusters 2 and 3 tomorrow.
I briefed Kaja on the battlefield situation, Russia's brutal terror against civilians, and our steps to strengthen Ukraine's resilience. We count on a strong and united European voice in peace efforts.
I thank Kaja and the EU for their reliable and timely support as Ukraine defends itself against Russian aggression".
