Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Russia deliberately attacked a shopping center in Sumy. At least two people have been killed and 20 injured.
A strike on a shopping centre is a conscious choice of target. Russia knew where it was sending this drone and what the consequences could be.
Moscow is demonstrating that it is prepared to keep killing civilians openly, in broad daylight, because it still believes the world will absorb every new Russian atrocity, condemn it, and move on.
That belief is becoming one of Russia’s weapons. It has to be destroyed.
Russia must see a direct connection between every attack on Ukrainian civilians and a stronger international response, which should include more capability for Ukraine to close its sky, more restrictions on Russia’s ability to build weapons, and greater pressure on the resources that finance its war.
The message after Sumy cannot be only expression of concern. It must be that every new Russian attack makes Ukraine stronger and Russia weaker.
Every Russian attack must be answered by reducing Russia’s ability to launch the next one. This is how we stop the cycle of terror".
