Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with a delegation from the Atlantic Council, a leading US think tank in the field of international politics and security.

The Foreign Minister informed his interlocutors about the latest diplomatic steps to achieve a just peace and Ukraine's vision of ending the war. It is based on the inviolability of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening of our country's defence capabilities and increased pressure on Moscow, in particular through additional sanctions instruments.

The Minister stressed that on 11 March, Ukraine agreed to the US proposal to establish an unconditional and comprehensive 30-day ceasefire, but Moscow did not accept it, continued to impose conditions and intensify terror against our country and people.

The parties discussed the situation on the battlefield, topical issues of the international agenda, ways to strengthen the defence capabilities of our country, and opportunities to deepen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States. Andrii Sybiha stressed that US leadership and Ukraine's strengthening will help ensure sustainable peace, common security and stability of the entire Euro-Atlantic area.

The Foreign Minister noted that the expansion of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defence sector, is in the practical interests of the Ukrainian and American peoples and will bring concrete results. Thanks to its unique experience and potential, Ukraine is ready to make a tangible contribution to Euro-Atlantic security on a long-term basis.

In the context of further development of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, the parties welcomed the signing of the intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Ukraine-U.S. Recovery Investment Fund.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Atlantic Council for its consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its Euro-Atlantic integration. He also stressed the importance of exchanging views with leading American experts to strengthen bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States and to continue a dynamic dialogue at all levels.
