I thanked the EU for its role in peace efforts as a strong supporter of Ukraine. We exchanged views ahead of the Abu-Dhabi meeting and agreed to strengthen support for Ukraine’s defense and resilience ahead of winter.

Pressure on Russia is essential to advancing the peace process. This includes new sanctions, entry bans, and accountability for Russian crimes.

We both agreed that there can be no decisions on the security of Ukraine and Europe without Ukraine and Europe.

We also discussed Ukraine’s EU accession and the opening of two remaining clusters until the end of the year.
