Anton Demokhin, Deputy Foreign Minister, Chief Digital Transformation Officer met with State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Alexandre Fasel on the margins of the Second Global Conference on Cyber Capacity Building, which started today in Geneva.
“Ukraine deeply values Switzerland’s contribution to the recovery and reconstruction of our country, as well as its support for technological modernization and digital transformation of Ukraine, public administration reforms, social services, innovation, and humanitarian programs,” stated Deputy Foreign Minister Demokhin.
He expressed gratitude to the Swiss side for allocating an additional CHF 58.7 million to support digital projects in healthcare, humanitarian demining, and the development of frontline communities.
The parties also reviewed the progress of Switzerland’s CHF 1.5 billion assistance program for Ukraine, discussed mechanisms for further engaging Swiss businesses in reconstruction efforts, and explored opportunities for new joint digital initiatives.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to cybersecurity cooperation. Both sides emphasized the strategic importance of cybersecurity and digital transformation for Ukraine’s post-war recovery — especially in terms of strengthening digital sovereignty, enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure, and protecting secure diplomatic communications.
Anton Demokhin and Alexandre Fasel reaffirmed the importance of continuing Ukraine – Switzerland cooperation, highlighting Switzerland’s leadership in global digital governance. They positively assessed the results of joint efforts in implementing Ukraine’s digital transformation projects supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and noted the potential of the Global Government Technology Center (GGTC Kyiv) as an international platform for exchanging best practices in digital governance.
