10 December 2024 10:40

As part of the visit of Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal to Ukraine, in addition to bilateral meetings with the country's top officials, a business forum was held, which was opened jointly by the Estonian guest and Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

During the event, representatives of technology companies from Ukraine and Estonia had the opportunity to learn about the best practices from two countries' industries, discuss joint initiatives and form partnership alliances for fruitful cooperation.

As part of the event, Deputy Minister Anton Demokhin participated in a panel discussion titled "Іmportance of Сyber Security and International Cooperation - Mutual Opportunities for Ukrainian and Estonian Companies", which focused on international cooperation in creating a secure cyberspace. Anton Demokhin emphasized the need to strengthen the unity and coordination of efforts of countries that share common values in countering Russia's destructive actions and in creating a common secure cyberspace without physical barriers, and therefore cyber threats have the potential to spread to all civilized countries.

Ukraine is grateful to Estonia for its assistance not only in enhancing national cyber resilience, but also for its willingness to share its experience in creating the most convenient digital state. Based on the Estonian X-Road, we developed Trembita, a system for exchanging information between registries, which became the foundation for the Diia ecosystem.

With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, our partnership reached a new level. Estonia has become a leader in many international initiatives to support Ukraine, including the Tallinn Mechanism, which coordinates international assistance from 11 partner countries to protect Ukraine in cyberspace.

We share a common vision of strengthening cyber resilience as a strategic priority for Ukraine and the world. Therefore, we continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Estonia, building a safer and more digital future together.
