The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the Art Arsenal and journalist Olena Nagorna launched the Book Month on the official website of Ukraine for the international audience Ukraine.ua. The idea of this special project has a reason. Such topics as literature and book illustration will receive some special attention in Ukraine in June. The updated section will tell about Ukrainians who are internationally recognized and who contributed to the literary process and modern trends of graphic design and illustration. Four new articles in English are now available for the website’s audience in the Happening now section:
“International Book Arsenal Festival 2021” is about a popular book festival among both Ukrainian and foreign audiences, which returns this year after a one-year break and will take place in Kyiv from June 23 to 27 in a hybrid format.
"Ukrainian Literature: Tips for Bookworms" is about modern Ukrainian literature and world-renowned writers whose books have been translated into foreign languages.
"Heorhiy Narbut, Ukrainian Master of Graphics" is about a prominent master of graphics, whose work has influenced the formation of new generations of illustrators; founder of the Ukrainian font school Heorhiy Narbut.
"8 Ukrainian Illustrators That Will Amaze You" is about Ukrainian book illustrators who have received international recognition.
The Happening now initiative on Ukraine's official website for foreign audiences is a thematic section where a new topic is in focus every time. Materials from previous special projects – about the country of innovations and digital transformations, Crimea and winter tourism in Ukraine are also available on the website.
