On June 8, Deputy Foreign Minister (CDTO) Dmytro Senik held a video conference with Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Alharthy.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Oman with particular focus on practical ways of boosting trade and tourist exchanges, inter alia, through establishing direct air communication and liberalizing visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
“Ukraine is interested in strengthening its partnership with the Gulf countries and is ready to step up cooperation with Oman in many fields, including the enhancement of the Sultanate's food security”, Dmytro Senik stressed.
The diplomats also discussed further political contacts at high and the highest levels, as well as exchanged views on interaction in the framework of international organisations.
After 5 months of 2021, the volume of trade in goods between Ukraine and Oman amounted to $75.46 million and increased by 42.6% if compared to the same period of the previous year (exports of goods from Ukraine to Oman amounted to $73.39 million).
