Ensuring the prevention of the aggravation of the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued a decree No. 230 of 22 March 2021, amending its previous decree № 1236 of 9 December 2020.
In addition to the mandatory insurance policy as previously announced, foreign citizens are now required to have a certificate proving negative test results for COVID-19. The testing must be performed by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method within 72 hours prior to arrival in Ukraine.
In case of absence of a policy (certificate) of insurance or a negative result of PCR testing on COVID-19, officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have the right to deny foreigners and stateless persons to cross the Ukrainian state border.
The new requirements do not apply to members of the diplomatic missions and members of their families, as well as a number of other categories of foreigners, in accordance with the exceptions provided by the Cabinet of Ministers decree No. 1236 of 9 December 2020.
